Very, very large campground is well staffed and maintained. They have as many rental RVs and cabins as sites, large pool with lifeguards, rental golf carts, rental boats, and frequent free shuttles to Holiday World. The roads are somewhat narrow and there are too many dangerous, unsigned intersections that make it unfriendly for kids on bikes/scooters (my main reason for a 9 rating). Go ahead and rent a cart as soon as you arrive or you will never survive the walk from the camp store/game room/lake to the pool!
Level sites with decent spacing, trees, and grass. Combination fishing/swimming pond with entertainment on the weekends. Decent WIFI, but bath house is in serious need of a remodel (and bug spray)! Lots of children and dogs, nearby (busy) train tracks and small airport next door make it a little on the noisy side. We plan on trying a different park next time, but it is not off our list for future stays.
An old KOA with friendly staff, good rates, and minutes from Green River Lake. Lack of road/site maintenance makes it tricky to maneuver, but is cozy with a low price.
Sites are narrow, but typical for the area. Still no cable TV hookups. WIFI is available, but signal is very weak in a lot of the campground and their internet connection is intermittent. They were having sewer issues when we first arrived, but the staff worked hard to fix it. Plenty of shade and the staff is friendly, but the park is showing its age. Excellent location and quiet if you're not at the edge by the Parkway. On our next trip to Nashville, we will try one of the neighboring parks before staying at the KOA again.
Gets our award for nicest and cleanest showers. Well stocked and reasonably priced camp store, nice playground and pool, and the whole park is kept very clean. Sites are somewhat small and very few were level. Loose gravel roads and hills make it bicycle unfriendly. Plenty of family friendly activities and theres an open shelter with a bigscreen TV for evening get-togethers.
Clean, quiet (except for the frogs) park with level sites and very clean. The sites are very close together with almost no grass or trees except along the dog walk by the creek and in the tent area; we suggest a creekside site to get shade on you backside. Fire rings and grills were rusted out and the lower bath house was still closed for the season making for a long walk to the upper bath house. Off-strip location but close to everything on the North end of town.
Our top recommended site in Pigeon Forge! Plenty of space between sites, level, clean, lots of shade but not clausterphobic. Just off the strip but quiet. Great location at the South end of Pigeon Forge; turn left for Gatlinburg or right for Pigeon Forge. PS: Stop by the Pepperidge Farm outlet on your way in to stock up on Gold Fish for the friendly, but not pushy, resident ducks.
